Despite being defeated in the spring, there is another proposal on the table to prohibit people who live outside Hanover from serving on the town's boards and committees.
Hanover's bylaw review committee is preparing a town meeting article that includes the residency restriction; the article would also require board members be able to regularly attend meetings in person.
A similar article was defeated by town meeting in the spring.

The Bremerton School Board will hold a closed-session meeting Monday to discuss possible legal action over problems with the resurfacing of the Bremerton High School track.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the district offices, 134 N Marion Ave.
The school board learned Nov. 12 that serious problems with a resurfacing project at the track will make it difficult to use for meets and may affect the track team's ability to practice.

The Washington Township zoning and hearing board voted unanimously this week to grant Waggoner Construction an additional year at its 135 Bents Mill Road location.
The board denied a requested additional temporary fifth office trailer, defining it as an expansion of the original four, rather than an accessory, which was its originally stated purpose.
During an October zoning board meeting, representatives for Waggoner requested a two-year extension at the Bents Mill Road property while plans are made

Selectmen say they are unable to prohibit weapons from being carried onto municipal property.
The board took up the question Wednesday after a resident with a concealed weapon permit called the Town Office and asked whether he would be able to take the weapon to a selectmen meeting.
Chairman Hal Ferguson said the town determined after consulting with the Maine Municipal Association that the town can only restrict its employees from carrying concealed weapons.

Both sides in the debate about the proposed Liberty Quarry say they were ready to share their views about the project with the Temecula school board before the issue was pulled from an agenda earlier this month.
Temecula Valley Unified School District board members had discussed inviting representatives from the builder, Granite Construction, and Save Our Southwest Hills, a community group opposing the project, to a Nov. 3 meeting.

Voters decided this week to approve four proposed changes to the town's land use regulations.
According to Joelle Nolan, town clerk for Mount Desert, all four proposals were handily approved by voice votes at Tuesday's special town meeting.
Rather than casting ballots, voters who gathered at the local elementary school indicated their support for each question by saying "aye" or "nay."

The Town of Hoosick Planning Board meeting took place this past Monday evening, November 16, inside the Hoosick Falls Armory with Chairman Jim Dunigan calling the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance the minutes of the previous month's meeting were approved.
There were five Board members present along with Board Attorney Stan King and Recording Secretary Karen Jennings.

Mayor Diana Smith is trying to set up a joint meeting of the village and town boards to discuss the revenue the town receives from Seneca Meadows landfill.
The village, through its law firm, filed a Freedom of Information Law request with the town several weeks ago, seeking data on landfill revenues over the past five years and how the money was spent.
Village officials said they needed the information as part of the ongoing discussion over village dissolution and sharing services with the town.
